Functionality of the system
Can Dutch PRPs use secure Internet e mail to submit bids?
No, this is not possible. PRPs will have to continue using the Central P.O. Box System (CPS) and the bid documents they are already using to submit bids for the auctions run by TSO Auction Office.
Is the bid document the same as the one used in the TSO Auction Office system?
Yes, the bid message submitted to NorNed Auction is technically the same as the one used in the TSO Auction System. Please refer to the Message Implementation Guide (MIG) for more information (www.edsn.nl/docs/Brondocumentatie/mig_delfor.pdf).
Is it possible to send a single message to both TSO Auction and NorNed Auction?
No, this is not possible. Each system requires a dedicated bid message.
Will the results of the NorNed Auction contain a contract number which identifies the result?
Yes, the contract number identifies the result and has to be included in the Delfor E nomination message in the Dutch nomination system.
Will there be an auction outcome and/or auction price for the not preferred direction?
No, the auction will produce an outcome only in the preferred direction, as well as the capacity that has been obtained and the price per hour.
How will the direction of the flow be decided?
The direction is decided by a pre-run based on all bids per hour. Participants can place bids in both directions but the final allocation of capacity and the right to this capacity will be in only one direction per hour. A more detailed description of this can be found under the auction rules and in slide presentation at www.NorNed-Auction.org.
The result of the auction and the following energy trade will be closely monitored. This will be input to possible improvements of the solution.
