Start high power tests NorNed cable

End of last week cable laying activities of the NorNed cable were completed and TenneT and Statnett started the transmission test program. The first low power tests show positive test results. Based on the good progress of the ongoing testing, it is planned to start high power testing on Tuesday April 15th.
The test program (test date and test plan) will be made public the day ahead in due time before gate closure at the power exchanges (Nord Pool and APX), i.e. at 09.00hrs. via an operation report on the websites of TenneT and Statnett and an exchange report on the website of Nord Pool.
The first high power test flows on Tuesday will go from Norway to the Netherlands. Export volumes from Norway, will be bid in by Statnett on Nord Pool Spot as price independent demand. TenneT will bid the import volumes to the Netherlands into APX as price independent supply.
