Longer test period required due to malfunction of the NorNed-cable
All cable laying activities at the NorNed-cable project between Norway and the Netherlands are completed. A technical malfunction was experienced as transmission testing of the cable started earlier this week.
Preparations for corrective action were taken immediately and analyses are now being made, while the exact cable failure is being investigated. Transmission tests will be continued after the fault is identified and repaired, to ensure a robust and reliable NorNed-interconnector. TenneT and Statnett will present more detailed information, as soon as we know more.
