Cable fault on NorNed
21-04-2011
A failure occurred on the NorNed cable on Monday 18 April at 17:45 hours. Research shows a cable fault at the Dutch side of the cable, approximately 300 meters off the Dutch coast. The exact location of the fault is currently being determined, so that repairs can be planned, prepared and carried out as soon as possible. At the same time cause determination is ongoing. A dedicated project team is focused on putting the link between Norway and the Netherlands back into operation as soon as possible. Expectations are that the repairs will take approximately ten weeks, depending on weather conditions and availability of specialized equipment.
